Bosbouw Digitaal: roundwood inventory for forestry

Demo

A live demo will land here soon.

It takes some time. Feel free to send Sven a message to sacrifice his weekend and speed things up.

What Bosbouw Digitaal does

Bosbouw Digitaal is a productised software package for roundwood inventory management. That sounds technical, but the problem is familiar: you manage several forest plots at the same time, your stacks are spread out across a large area, and your administration is a mix of paper job tickets, Excel files and knowledge in the heads of your employees. When a haulier asks where stack 7 is, it costs you half an hour.

Bosbouw Digitaal ends that situation. Per stack you record a geo-location, a status, a removal history and, if you want, photos. Employees work from a mobile app that runs offline, essential at sites where 4G is not always available. The office follows status via the web interface. Nothing needs to be entered twice anymore.

The software fits companies that manage several plots at the same time, or that still keep stack administration on paper or in Excel. It is not an ERP, not an invoicing system and not bookkeeping. It is a shop-floor tool that the back office can look in on.

Features

  1. Project-based inventory management: several forest plots or projects at the same time, with separate inventory lists per project. Everything in one clear system, no more searching which file holds which plot.

  2. Geo-location per stack: shareable with your haulier through a link. No more confusion about “where was stack 7?”. Click, open, navigate.

  3. Full stack history: every interaction is traceable in an audit trail: additions, removals, notes, photos. Who did what and when, always verifiable.

  4. Assortment overview: find quickly where certain wood types or lengths are located. Useful for efficient transport planning: one overview that directly answers “do we still have enough of X?”

  5. Offline mobile app: essential for the shop floor in forests where 4G does not always work. Employees keep registering, the sync happens as soon as they are back online. No lost registrations, no duplicate work.

  6. CSV export for legal evidence: all stack and removal history is always retrievable as CSV. Usable for EUDR compliance, internal audits or reporting to third parties.

80% standard, 20% custom

Bosbouw Digitaal is a productised package. That means the bulk of what you need already exists, including the mobile app, the web interface, the geo-location functionality, the audit trail and the CSV exports. You get all of that in the standard implementation, without needing anything built from scratch.

You get the existing Bosbouw Digitaal app with a base configuration. In four to six weeks you go live. After that, one or two months of custom work follow for what makes your company unique, if needed.

Examples of custom extensions we build more often, but which are not required:

Every custom track starts with an intake. We map out what your work process requires and what the standard already covers. What the standard covers, you do not pay extra for.

Price

€25,000 for the standard implementation: one-off. This covers the full rollout of the standard Bosbouw Digitaal app, including account creation, base configuration and the training week.

€300 per month for running cost: hosting, maintenance, support and updates. We keep the software up to date, including when laws and regulations change.

Custom extensions: price on request. We always quote a fixed price for custom work up front. No time-and-materials discussions afterwards; you know exactly where you stand before you sign off.

All prices exclude VAT.

Who it is for

Bosbouw Digitaal fits:

From roughly five actively managed stacks, the system adds value over a well-kept Excel file. Below that, Excel is usually enough and we say so.

Not for: companies with only loose, incidental purchases or sales. If you buy a batch of wood twice a year and do not administer it structurally, Bosbouw Digitaal is too big for the job. We do not sell software that does not help.

Implementation process

The implementation track follows six steps:

  1. Demo: one hour, free, with your real business situation as the starting point. We show how the app handles a typical plot scenario from you.
  2. Intake: one to two days on site or remote. We map your process: which plots, which assortments, which roles, which integrations. Based on this we determine what custom work, if any, is needed and what it costs.
  3. Rollout week: installation, account creation, first configuration based on the intake. You install nothing; we handle it.
  4. Training week: operators learn the mobile app, managers learn the dashboard. Practical, using your own data.
  5. Go-live: from here, the system runs for your company.
  6. One month of aftercare included: questions and small adjustments are picked up within one working day. No separate support contract needed for that first period.

Working together with our EUDR software

Bosbouw Digitaal works seamlessly with our EUDR software. When you use both, you register a stack only once. A stack in Bosbouw Digitaal = a trace number available for your EUDR due-diligence statement as soon as the shipment leaves.

No duplicate work, one source of truth for both your stack administration and your EUDR compliance.

The integration is optional. You can also use Bosbouw Digitaal on its own without the EUDR module. Read more about the EUDR software on the EUDR page.

“We built Bosbouw Digitaal after seeing too many Excel files used for stack management. This is not an ERP. This is a shop-floor tool that the back office can look in on.”
